Technical Assistance Project for Empowerment of the Role of Ombudsman in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights.

Romania Study Visit

A study visit was organised to Bucharest, Romania, on 26-28 July 2022 within the scope of the Technical Assistance Project for Empowerment of the Role of Ombudsman in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights.

In the study visit programme, visits were organised to authorities such as the Turkish Embassy in Bucharest, the People's Advocate (Ombudsman) of Romania, the Romanian National Council for Combating Discrimination, the Romanian Association for Human Rights Protection, the Office of the Government Representative of the European Court of Human Rights, the Turkish Businessmen Association, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, and the Romanian Institute for Human Rights. During the visits, discussions were held regarding issues such as studies carried out in the countries, ways of seeking legal remedies in the Constitution and laws, and their functioning. Discussions included the relations between the Office of the Government Representative of ECHR and the European Union, as well as their studies. Also, these institutions and the Ombudsman Institution of the Republic of Türkiye were evaluated in terms of their projects and activities.
